National Healthcareer Association's ExCPT Awarded Full Status in Texas

Written by Jessica Langley | May 2018

We are pleased to announce that the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP), in collaboration with two independent evaluators, again issued the ExCPT certification program “full award status.” Full award status indicates the ExCPT exam is suitable and acceptable for the examination and certification of pharmacy technicians in the state of Texas.

Every four years, the TSBP conducts a comprehensive review of pharmacy technician certification programs.  The certification programs are scored on four categories: design, development, implementation and defensibility.

Notably, the ExCPT received high scores in the categories of development and implementation.  “Strong scores reinforce the quality and rigor that NHA applies to each of our exams and our commitment to improving community safety through credentialing. We are excited to continue to provide choice and a pathway to certification for pharmacy technicians and to support them in their career aspirations to serve the community in the pharmacy space, whether in a retail or hospital setting” says Lyndsey McDonald, Director of ExCPT Partnerships for NHA.
