# ExCPT Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (CPhT): New test plan released

Today [National Healthcareer Associatio](http://www.nhanow.com/)[n](http://www.nhanow.com/) (NHA) has released the new ExCPT Pharmacy Technician Certification test plan. After a rigorous Job Task Analysis study, practitioners and industry experts helped identify some shifts in the pharmacy technician profession. These professionals are assuming increasing responsibilities within the workplace, and a certified technician can add significant value allowing pharmacists to spend more time with patients. These expanded tasks and content areas will be reflected on the new exam.
