Sally Hammond

Assistant Director, Cone Health Medical Group

Sally Hammond joined Cone Health’s Finance and Treasury Department in 1998. Cone Health is a health system that thrives on the growth of its team members, and Sally believes she is a perfect example of that. Starting as an accountant at Cone, Sally grew to the treasurer position before returning to her first love of medical practice administration. Before Cone Health, Sally was the Director of Finance at Eagle Physicians in Greensboro, NC, and Area Director for Humana’s “MedFirst” offices. She is a 1981 graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, where she majored in economics. After caring for her mother for 25 years (she passed at 100!), Sally enjoys antiquing and learning to knit and cook. She currently lives in Greensboro, NC.

Kristiana Routh

Content Strategist, NHA

Kristiana Routh is a content strategist with NHA. Her primary focus is on the clinical professions. Nationally known as a subject matter expert in the field of medical assisting, Kristiana brings over 18 years of experience in the field. Before working for NHA she owned her own business as a consultant to clients in the allied health education fields. She has authored many publications. Her most recent, and final, textbook “Pearson’s Comprehensive Medical Assisting, Fifth edition” was published in June of 2022. She worked as both managing editor and lead author on the text. Kristiana’s experience focuses on creative solutions for educating learners in the allied health professions. Working for years as an instructor for medical assisting and other allied health programs, her approach to the current need is seen through the lens of both educator and expert.
