Practical Nursing Program Director

LaDonna Selvidge has been a Career Tech Educator for 25 years and currently serves as the Practical Nursing Director at Francis Tuttle Technology Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. LaDonna’s extensive leadership includes her current service as the Vice President for the ACTE Health Science Education Division. She is actively engaged in the HSE Division’s Policy Committee and has participated in ACTE’s Fellowship Program and Bylaws Committee. LaDonna served on the National Advisory Council on Nursing Education and Practice and Oklahoma’s CareerTech Women in Leadership Program. LaDonna advocates for ACTE, as she promotes its mission and values in Career Tech Education.

Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing at the University of Texas at Tyler

J. Michelle Nelson, PhD, RN, CNE, ACUE, is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing at the University of Texas at Tyler. Her background includes nearly 3 decades as a registered nurse, with experience in medsurg, oncology, and home care. In addition, Michelle has extensive teaching experience in both online and face-to-face settings. She has taught CNA courses at the high school level as well as nursing at the LVN, ADN, BSN, and graduate levels. Michelle's special teaching interests include engaging students in active learning strategies, promoting student-centered teaching, and maximizing one's strengths for success.
