Now Accepting Nominations for the 2019 NHA Pharmacy Technician Recognition

Together with the California Pharmacist Association (CPhA), NHA announces the inaugural California Pharmacy Technician Recognition Program. The awards will be presented live at Western Pharmacy Exchange Annual Conference on April 13thduring the CPhA Awards Ceremony Luncheon from 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. “Recognizing high performing innovators amongst pharmacy technicians, technician educators and employers is an important way to elevate the pharmacy technician profession,” said Jessica Langley, Executive Director of Education and Advocacy at NHA. The application process is now live in the following categories:

  • California Pharm Tech Educator of the Year
  • California Pharm Tech Employer of the Year.

Anyone actively working within the pharmacy profession, or currently seeking or working on initiatives associated with the advancement of the pharmacy technician profession, is eligible to apply for the recognition program. Applicants must also be a California resident and agree to participate in the recognition program.

Submissions are open from February 15, 2019 12am CST to March 15, 2019 11:59pm CST. Each submission entry must include an essay consisting of 500 words or less, or a video essay/entry no longer than 120 seconds (2 minutes). A copy of the nominees resume that includes: professional, academic and community accomplishments is also required. Nominees will also need to include an endorsement letter from a supervisor or colleague to help demonstrate the impact of his or her work.

A panel of judges that includes pharmacy representatives will choose one winner in each of the categories. Each winner will receive one year of California Pharmacist Association Membership Dues; one free registration to Western Pharmacy Exchange 2020; and one NHA pharmacy technician product suite, which includes a complimentary ExCPT exam application, supporting study materials, and access to a new online learning resource, PharmaSeer™.
